Australian Frogs: A Natural History
Published in Paperback by Cornell Univ Pr (January, 1998)
Author: Michael J. Tyler
Average review score:

An excellent book of Australian frogs, beautifully written
A wonderful piece of work - but I would have preferred the genus Litoria to be split into the various genera that Wells and Wellington (1985) used, as it is just so much easier to understand the relationships of each from a zoogeographic point of view. Nevertheless, all good things come to those who ask often enough, so here's asking for a revised edition !

Bad Girl
Published in Paperback by Pretty Things Press (01 October, 2002)
Author: Alison Tyler
Average review score:

A rock-hard collection....
More than 20 sizzling sexy stories make this book a winner! Many of the stories are culled from previously published anthologies, making it a best-of collection. The stories and characters work together perfectly. There are several girl-girl scenarios, so if that's not your scene, this won't be the book for you. That said, the sex is really sexy in all of the stories, and many genres and fetishes are covered, making the book feel very complete and satisfying.

Baltimore Portraits
Published in Paperback by Duke Univ Pr (Trd) (June, 1999)
Authors: Amos Badertscher, Michael P. Mezzatesta, and Tyler Curtain
Average review score:

mesmerizing
Amos Bandertscher's new book, Baltimore Portraits, is a visual documentary of a city's forgotten faces. The photographer uses images as a visual diary of his impressions of the streets, bars, and back alleys of 'Charm City', where the beautiful, the marginalized, outsiders, freaks and clowns converge into a colorful and yet often melancholy documentation of lives lived on the edge and lives lost. The book is an impressive body of work which ranks among the likes of Nan Goldin and Diane Arbus.

The Battle of the Little Big Horn (We the People)
Published in School & Library Binding by Compass Point Books (August, 2001)
Author: Marc Tyler Nobleman
Average review score:

An excellent juvenile history of the Little Bighorn Battle
Marc Tyler Nobleman provides an excellent history of "The Battle of the Little Bighorn" for young readers. Early on in this "We the People" book Nobleman declares: "Custer's actions were neither smart or heroic, but they made him an American legend." In this book we learn both why this battle made Custer a legendary figure and why his exploits are hardly heroic. The battle, which occurred shortly before the nation celebrated its Centennial, is put in context of the escalating tensions between the Native Americans and the U.S. government. Nobleman covers the impact of the Indian Removal Act of 1830, the establishment of the Indian Territory in 1834, and the orders to relocate tribes, which came to a head when gold was discovered in the Black Hills of Dakota. We learn about the life of Custer, a brief account which focuses on both his heroism and his reckless streak. I was most impressed with Nobleman's argument that the Plains War was essentially another American Civil War, fought between two groups in the same country. "The Battle of the Little Bighorn" is illustrated with a well-above average set of historic drawings, etchings, paintings and photographs. Although this is one of the shortest juvenile histories of the battle that I have read, Nobleman does a most impressive job of covering not only the battle but the issues that it raises for American history, making very clear that this victory for the Plains Indians over the U.S. 7th Cavalry had disastrous long-term effects for the winning side. The back of this book includes a glossary of a dozen terms, a Did You Know? section with interesting tidbits (e.g., how Crazy Horse got his name), a timeline of Important Dates (including how in 1991 the Custer Battlefield National Monument was renamed the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument and the U.S. government ordered the construction of an Indian memorial), a list of Important People, a Want to Know More? section (for both the Library and the Web), and an index. While I certainly think this book is a solid effort I do wish they had picked a different painting of the battle for the cover, for both historical and aesthetic reasons.

The Big Bend: A History of the Last Texas Frontier
Published in Paperback by Texas A&M University Press (April, 1996)
Authors: Ronnie C. Tyler and Ron C. Tyler
Average review score:

The essential Big Bend reference
Ron Tyler's seminal work on the Big Bend of Texas is required reading for anyone who plans a trip to the "Texas Outback". This enchanting out-of-the-way part of Texas has invited explorers and adventurers for years and Tyler's historical treatment brings all the mystery and drama of the region to the surface for the modern traveler. The maps and historical photographs blend with the text to give the reader a "sense of place" that separates the Big Bend area from other southwestern landscapes. A must read for anyone interested in the remote lands of North America.

Blessing Cards: A Meaningful Way to Communicate Your Love, Gratitude and Caring
Published in Cards by United States Games Systems (September, 1997)
Authors: Kathy Tyler and Joy Drake
Average review score:

Sacred Little cards
I was first introduced to these cards some years ago by a very dear friend. She began a meditation group that I attended and when the group gathered we'd often each pick Blessing Cards after our meditations. These cards would always seem to share a significant and reflective message. There is something very honest and sacred about them. When I pick these cards it is like taking a wisdom book from a shelf and opening to a page that has just the right words for me in that moment. I received a box of these cards from this friend as a gift, and it is one of my most treasured items. I keep the cards in a special box and I pick at least one of these illuminating card every day. I have also in turn given many boxes of Blessing Cards to others. Intention is a powerful thing and everyone that I've given them to has just loved them. These cards have undoubtedly been created with wonderfully positive intentions and are a gift to yourself and/or others that keeps on giving. They really are "(a) meaningful way to communicate your love, gratitude and caring"

Computer Battlegames
Published in Library Binding by Edu Dev (January, 1983)
Author: and Tyler, Isaamamm

Essential for people with z80's
What do you mean that the z80 disappeared before you were born? I was weaned on 8088's and z9\80's. Anyway this is an easy to follow basic (by the line numbers.) book. Let's see if you can convert it to C? Or pick your platform. This is a hardback book from a time of paperback books. The contents show 47 games. Most of them are different versions of Missile for various hardware platforms. Good for it's time. Fun for this time.
